Richard Auldon Clark - The Composer

Richard Auldon Clark is Director of Instrumental Activities at Butler University, as well as Professor of Violin and Viola and Artistic Director / Conductor of the Butler Symphony Orchestra. Mr. Clark studied the violin and viola with Raphael Bronstein and Lillian Fuchs at the Manhattan School of Music, where he received his Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Music Performance. Mr. Clark is the Artistic Director and Conductor of the Manhattan Chamber Orchestra, a position he has held for twenty-five years. As a composer, Mr. Clark has written and recorded numerous chamber works, and has collaborated with Kurt Vonnegut in the creation of several new works based on his novels. Currently, Mr. Clark is writing at the request of Mr. Vonnegut an opera based on Vonnegut’s play “Happy Birthday, Wanda June”. Mr. Clark has appeared with the Utah Symphony, Louisville Orchestra, Indianapolis Symphony, and National Symphony of Mexico.
